Refinishing 870 Express ?

Is it worth it to "refine" an 870 express and re-finish it? I don't know anything about refinishing, but the barrel bracket/clamp on my model (870 express 18" extended magazine) seems to want to eat the finish off.

What are my options for re-finishing an 870 express? It has a speck of stubborn surface rust.
Any input appreciated.

I have an older 870 with a 20" deer barrel "also have a 30" full choke barrel" that I'm turning into a tactical shotgun. I'm going to send it off to get painted flat black cause I have some wornout bluing as well. Is it worth it? I think so.

Parkerizing and then possibly painting Witt a good durable epoxy type finish is the way to go for sure!
