Refinishing m1 garand (parkerizing)

Another vote for Nick at Vulcan, he does outstanding work on Garands and other milsup stuff.

OP, even if you find a half talented guy in Quebec, you still have to ship.

Thankfully "Sunray" is no longer around to offer pearls of wisdom on DIY parkerizing.

I recommend Vulcan for parkerizing. I do my parkerizing outdoors, but use Nick in the winter. Never been disappointed with his work.

If it's a WWII receiver, please leave it alone. Just some elbow grease, oil and love. Or sell it to me and I'll do it :)

It's a Springfield receiver, but, it's a refurbished all mismatch and the receiver and barrel have been sanded. No rounded edges, just no finish. The trigger assembly, sights and some other parts have a good finish. I don't know if I should have only the barrel and receiver refinish and keep everything else as is.
What do you think?
For a complete metal refinish, it cost 350$ plus 100$ disassembly plus shipping ant taxes. It's a 500-600$ job!

Personally, I would only bother having the barrel and receiver refinished since it sounds like they’re the only parts that really need it but if you decide to go with the full re-park I’d love to see some pictures.

I already sent the receiver, barrel, bolt and butt plate to Vulcan. It will cost around 150$. It's very reasonable. Thanks again for your help. Nick seems a really nice guy.
