I just received an early model 7 Remington (1984) and the condition of the bottom metal (trigger guard and hinged floorplate) is less than stellar. I would like to have these refinished. I don't think they can be blued. What are my options to have this done and who can do it?

Unsure what your metal is like but I have had very good results with G96 1064 bluing cream.
Easy to use. Just sand metal with various grits, polish then apply the cream. Metal darkens immediately. Wipe down with water to neutralize. Reapply as needed.

The bottom metal is aluminum, and therefore can't be blued. You can use Aluminum Black, but it just doesn't look very good on such a large area; it's okay for small dings, scratches etc., but needs to have the whole surface sanded and prepared if you want to cover a big patch.

You're probably going to need to paint or coat it some way; Cerakote, etc.
