Refinishing older pellet gun?

I have an old pelet gun that a friend of my dads gave me when I was a kid (Probably 15-17 years ago). It has definately seen better days. Some of the finish is coming off and I would like to refinish it. What can I use to refinish it. It has to be durable so that it will not chip again. Any ideas?

It is a Crossman #6 Single Action Pellet gun

It appears to be pot metal so I don't believe any cold blues will work. You will have to use some type of paint. But a lot of people here are using paints on firearms instead of bluing or parkerizing.

What is a good paint/finish to use that will stand up over time? Preferably something that isn't a matt finish.
