The oxynate 84 is for stainless, have not tried it yet, have a 1911 of my own to do If I ever get out of the bush. The others are traditional Hot Caustic, homemade formula. No, don't try that in the house. The nitre salts are for nitre (heat) bluing, you can just use plain kno3 for that but this stuff has a lower melting point and is easier to get the color you want.

Now that is definitely "Gun####"!
Basically a bandaid, under the tape is epoxy to fill in chips and the tape keeps it flat so you don't have a big glob to file off after the clear epoxy cures. Dents were removed with steam but the stock was very beat up and full of chips and gouges.
