Can anyone tell me if there is an advantage to having a red dot reflex sight on an 870 super express mag as opposed to some fibre optic or bead? I haven’t hunted gobblers before but have been busy scouting areas in anticipation of the upcoming season. Just wondering if it’s worth spending the extra cash. I live in BC 4-8,4-9 area. All opinions welcome. Thanks in advance!

From my experience they both work well, it will come down to which one you’re most comfortable with. I’ve had a red dot, bead, ghost rings and rifle sights (fiber optic and irons) and I always gravitate to rifle sights on my hunting shotguns. Bead sights are a close second.

I have an Aimpoint Micro H2 for turkeys. Works great. A bonus was when I put on my fully rifled slug barrel, it was spot on at 100 yards. Always shot slugs with a scope but the Aimpoint is faster

Ive tried them and didnt mind them. I used a red dot for a while which i liked more as it seemed more rugged. I eventually settled on a 4x32 scope and im very happy with it. Really helps to see if a jake has a beard or not. Less movement than switching back and forth between binoculars.
If using battery operated sights bring an extra battery
