Hi all. So does anyone have an opinion on using a reflex type sight on top of a rimfire rifle. I prefferebly did not want to put a tube type red dot sight atop the receiver but rather like the look of a reflex sight. I know this is a cheap one, but just was thinking of trying one out before buying a more expensive one. This is not the exact one I had found, but the same appearance and looks. I liked it as it had two color and four reticles. Thanks in advance for your opinions and help.

...i started using a Sun Optics reflex on my Chiappa Little Badge and liked it a lot, but the Sun sight wouldn't stay zeroed,

so i went with a mini red dot...

...and i had a rugged one on my 10/22 to match my sks

...but then got another sks so i put this better reflex on it to match the first and went to a traditional 4x scope

...these 2 .22's are for closer range shooting...i like a reflex...just realize that at a distance the red dot may not afford extreme accuracy but they worked well on these 2, as they do on my sks's

one note of caution, i've found that the cheaper reflexes have always tanked on me

Bushnell AR first strike series is good value. Reflex (holographic) or red dot (tube style).
Since they are designed for 223 recoil they will easily handle the rimfire stuff and maintain zero.

I have a browning reflex on my SR22 right now. I hate it. A few yards difference in distance and the dot is completely out for my aim point. No zoom setup for 30 yards.

Try mounting the sight further out. The dot will be easier to acquire in your sight picture that way. And there's no disadvantage to using it in this way.

I had a Burris FastFire on my Tactical Solutions for a while. I mounted it as far forward on the receiver's top rail as I could. This worked like a charm and was fast to pick up the dot when the gun was raised for the first shot in a string of Speed Steel passes.

I would no question, red dot and reflex are the new irons, and my eyes need them. You get what you pay for in this regard, but on 22'ls there are a lot of cost effective options.
