I’m looking for some feedback/opinions on going the refurbished route. Checked out some refurbished P226’s the other day at a local dealer and cosmetically they looked brand new but $300 cheaper than a new one. I know from my electronics background to stay away from refurbished units but never had any experience with refurbished guns. Thanks.

I have my name down at TSE for a refurb SIG as soon as they come in... these are ex- agency guns that are taken back to the original place of manufacture and completely gone through. In the past when I have looked at them, I would not have known the difference between the refurb and the new one without being told.
TSE gets a grab bag of pistols when the do get them in. Some have rails, some have night sights, some have both, some have neither. You get what you get. When they come in, you can scoop a 226R with night sights in next to new shape for a steal of a deal. Pistols are not electronics, buy one and be happy, spend the savings on ammo.

Owned a Refurb 226 and a 220 and they were both in very good condition. If someone had told me they were new with a few rounds threw them, I would have beleived him/her/it

I have a refurb in 40. Great gun. Need to buy another for a backup for travelling to shoots. Just in case.
Put around 2,000 rounds through it without a hicup. Don't clean it as often as I should and no prolems.
