Refurbishing 1911's

Good afternoon,

does anyone recall a thread regarding a fella who refurbishes 1911's. Believe I recall he did parkerizing and rescroll work. Think he was from around Windsor. Does this ring a bell with anyone?

Sounds like your thinking of Nick at Vulcan Gun Refinishing.He does awesome work and has tonnes of NOS parts.

Nick does great work, I wouldn't hesitate if a gun has already been messed with, but if it's original it's best kept as is for historic and dollar value. It's your gun and can do as you please but you can never go back to original.

no i wouldn't do that.
want to get a couple pistols parkerized and possibly personalize scroll and serial # on a nork frame, plain gi type slide and ww2 checkered parts.
any one have a idea what he may charge? don't needed it as fantastic as his singer rebuild video on youtube. just a good example of a typical gi pistol, i can shoot and not worry about it.
i have the pistols and parts, so don't want to purchase say, a auto ordnance type pistol. besides there series 80's and don't like so much.
