Registration Certificate

Bought my first restricted firearm a few weeks ago, and I have the temporary "registration certificate" printout that reads "I'll receive the actual certificate in a separate envelope". Typically, how long does this take to come (in Ontario)?

Also while I'm creating a thread, probably a stupid question, but do ranges in Ontario typically allow you to have your firearm holstered?

they used to come within a week of that paper....my last one took a month :/

Each range has different rules (you can only draw from holster if IPSC Black Badge qualified or qualified in other disciplines that require drawing from holster.) Some ranges will allow you to holster your gun while walking from the firing bench to your targets (so as not to leave your handgun on the bench from where it could be snatched) but will not allow holstered guns walking from one range to another.

If the range/club has a website, you will usually be able to find out from their range rules or FAQs.
