I need a question answered.
Going to have a Rem 700 sent out next week to be rebarrelled and I have not received the registration card for the gun.
Does the gunsmith have to have reg certificate before work is started? I'm assuming that all work is recorded w/ serial #'s, at least to identify peoples actions in the shop.
I've gotten a couple of different answers so far.
I know I could phone but I'm cheap:D

Any help

Thanks

I understand the law says the registration certificate must be with the firearm at all times. If you are in possession without the certificate, the law is being broken.

I also understand the firearms bureaucracy ignore this all the time - they break their own laws all the time. They tell you a number and let you go on your way.

Why not call 1 800 731-4000 and ask them - get it right from the horses mouth so to speak, rather than from the horses ass. :D
