A lot of that depends on whether or not that fawn was born early(1st rut) or late(2nd rut). Don't forget as does and cows approach peak estrus they will kick the young off or often the bulls or bucks will chase them off. Fawn survival depends a lot on the overall herd. Solitary animals may not survive as well as one in a group. But in the overall view of things, wolves/foxes/birds etc. all need to eat too, so really it's all good.
