Just wondering if there's any interest in these. It's a model 1883, in 10.6 cal. I think is the same as .44 Russian? The loading gate and the hand are missing but the rest is very good.
I should repair it, trade it, sell it, or just shoot it. What's your ideas, is there a parts gun, or what's it worth as is? Thanks...

44 Russian works they are nice but they usually require a heeled bullet as the bore on the one I handled is larger than .430 , value I have seen $1000. -$2000. ON them on US gun sites

Yes but not with the loading gate and hand missing thats kinda important eh

Id say $400 to $800 to someone willing to fix it up would be more realistic.

If you can find a loading gate and a hand then of course its worth more.

Nice looking one tho.

Have the second model and I do use .44 russian. Wish I was smart when the local gun shop had both and I only picked up the one with the shorter barrel because I had no bloody idea of what I was looking at.

I think the guy who designed the lockwork was also in the business of designing bank vault locking mechanisms

Dremel yourself a loading gate out of a chunk of brass as a project .

Is it a single action, I wonder if you could fit a colt or remington hand to it?
