Many here have been interested in Rel17 and to hear of its performance in various cartridges. So I just thought I'd share my results with it today in my 350WSM - even though no one else here on this board actually shoots that wildcat - that I know of anyway.
Today I used ReL17 in my 350WSM for the first time. I chronyed these loads using;
225 Partitions, WLR primers, necked up nickel plated WW 300WSM, no crimp, and a COAL of 2.850".
70/ReL 17 - 2709 (all instrumental 12' from muzzle)
72/ReL 17 - 2785
74/ReL 17 - 2845
74.5/ReL 17 - 2871
75/ReL 17 - 2892
The top load did not have any measureable case head expansion or any other indicators to suggest an overload. Pretty pleased but must test for accuracy next. That top load is 4206 ft.lbs at the muzzle and the Taylor KO is 33. With a 22" barrel I'm pretty happy about getting 2900MV.
I know of another 350WSM Basner built rifle in the states using this same 75gr load but with 225gr TBBCs. It's clocking 2950MV but with a 24" tube using Federal magnum Match primers. I've got those primers too and may give them a whirl too - might be better for accuracy - but ???.
