Has anyone tried this ammo? Is it really non corrosive?

When in doubt, check using the nail test... Plenty of threads that explains the process. Basically, pop the primer of say 2 rounds over a nail and check for rust after some time. For reference, you should also detonate one of two primers from rounds confirmed to be non corrosive, as well as one or two reference nail that are just left as is...

Bought a crate when it was on sale for less than the corrosive - manufacture date on the crate I have is 2000. Anything post 1990 should be non-corrosive.

If it is wrapped in paper and comes in a spam can - I would tend to believe that it is corrosive.

Not always. Lever Arms was selling 1500/$325 for copper wash Chinese spam can wrapped in paper. Lots of people on CGN just “decided” it was corrosive but it was made in early 2000’s and was for sure non corrosive. Went through over 20 cases of it with no rust. :)

I was sad to see that supply dry up.

OP, Reliable has their own forum, you might want to ask for details there.

I bought a case of that stuff, nail tested it and the nail rusted over night. The stuff I had was definitely corrosive.

I didn’t nail test it, just shot 30k rounds in half a dozen different rifles with no sign of rust.

I’m sure it’s possible that the factory found some old primers and just dumped them into the mix so there was some corrosive in there somewhere. I did find one round with a green primer and it turned out to be a tracer round, so anything is possible.
