Anyone have a starting load for the Ruger 204 useing 10x and Berger Varmint 35 gr match?
I also got a box of the new Nosler ballistic tip 40 grainers, as well as the Callhoon 33gr Dbl HP to give a try.

where did you find RL10x? I'd like to try some in my 223 :D Wholesale & Russell Sports say they gots none...

Dang hard stuff to find, I got it at a gunshow and have spoken for another lb or 2 for the next gunshow. I`d like to find a 8lb but that is like hens teeth..lol
If I run into a good supplie I`ll buy a bunch and maybe share..:)
I`m told it works very well in the 204, 222,223, and 308( lighter bullets.)

try about 25 grains 25.1 is the listed max for 40 grain projectiles. I have shot 26 grains in mine with no signs of pressure.

I got a pound from P&D here in Edmonton. Truthfully, I prefer Varget in my 204. Seems to make less mess, and is more accurate with the loads I've come up with so far

If I am not mistaken

Jo-Brook firearms in Brandon had or has some. I would also try Doug @ Rayn'er Shine Gunworks in Lancer, SK. If he does not have it he will get it in pretty quick.

Prosper,, WHat load did you try that was dirty burning? Were they top loads?
What weight of bullets? I`m going to try a load for the 35gr Berger Varmint Match.

I was loading with the hornady 40 grainer to about 26 gr of 10x, .9 gr above the max load as found in the Sierra manual for their 39gr bullets. No pressure signs, but I was testing in 0-degree weather. Best accuracy with my XR-100 was somewhere in the 23.5 gr range, at 1/2-in groups. But I can get the same group size and another 200 fps w/varget, so I'll stick to that :)

Haven't tried it with the lighter bullets yet, but I do have a couple hundred 32-grainers kicking around that I'll have to play with sometime.
