Reloader 19 for Mosin 91/30?

Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone's tried Reloader 19 in their Mosin Nagant 91/30 or similar 30 cal long barrel rifle.

I'm using 174gn 303cal Sierra match kings and RL 15 currently and was thinking the slower powder might work well in the 91/30's 29" barrel, what do youze think?

Well, got out today and tried to work up a load with Reloader 19 and 174 SMKs (303 caliber). Started at 50gns and got as far as 53.5. This seems to pretty much fill the case, slightly compressing it even.

There were no signs of pressure at 53.5, accuracy could be good. Will try to shoot some groups with 53gns and see what happens. Should bust out the chrony and see how fast these are going as well.

Also worked up to 47gns Reloader 15. This is a published max load so I wasn't surprised it was OK. POI was higher than with RL-19, about the same as with Czech silvertip. and recoil was pretty stout. No signs of pressure though.

Got out to the range again today. Wanted to compare loads with RL-15 and RL-19. Loaded up 10 with 53gns RL-19 and 10 with 46gns RL-15.

My shooting was pretty bad as I had a bit too much fun last night, but the RL-19 seemed to have the edge in accuracy. The group was under 3" while the RL-15 was more like 4". I'll have to get out when I'm in better shape to test further.

Don't know velocities yet but the RL-15 had about 1.5" or so higher POI
