For those who have used RE 19 much, have you noticed any significant temp sensitivity when chronoing loads from summer to winter?

The interwebs seems to reveal forum threads that are polarized - some guys say not at all, other believe it is...

Experiences/data?

Thanks!

If I work up a load with RL19 when it is 24 outside, then chrony it at -30, I see at most a 50 FPS drop, however I did not let my ammo sit outside and freeze... when I hunt in real cold, I keep my ammo inside clothing not too far from my body until I need it. My rifle mind you might be at ambient and have a coating of snow/ice on it at times! And the Moose or whatever I shot in those conditions never seemed to complain that the bullet "might" have been travelling at 2990 instead of 3050.

Yeah, 50fps is hardly a concern. I am more worried about well over 100.

I ask because at the range today I decided to fire 2 shots with my 6.5x55 (load is 120gr TTSX over 48.5gr RE19), 1 at 200m and 1 at 300m. I didnt have my chrony with me. Both shots were a good deal lower than I expected, relative to the last time I shot a target in October. Many variables could be at play but I am curious about the temp sensitivity and potential loss of velocity.

I dont live where the same temps have as much of a spread but I have only chronied about a 30 fps spread with rl19(300wsm). Rl22 is a different story though, I`ve seen close to 100 with that one in a 257 weatherby. The weatherby probably reacts more to smaller pressure changes though considering the bullet weights
