Want to start laoding 40 and 45 ACP in volumes of about 3k/month combined calibres. Anyone out there want to sell a 550B or 650. ? Would be interested in buying any useful bits and pieces including case cleaner and scales.

At 3k a month, forget about the 550. Your choice is between the 650 and the 1050.

The cost of the press is a one time expence, but your valuable time is a continuing one.

Of the two, the 1050 is the one I'd recommend. It's only downside over cost is the time it takes to switch calibers. If you stick to one primer size, it can be as simple and quick as the 650. Toolheads are more expensive, but like I said, you only buy them once.

For brass cleaning, get the biggest you can find. I use the Hornady M3, and would recommend it.

If you are going to be loading the quantities you suggest, I would recommend that you get yourself about 5k of brass in each caliber. Once you find a load you like, lock your settings down, and load everything. Going back to the press constantly is a waste of time.

I reload a little more then 3k a month in 9mm Major and 40 S&W at this time on a 650XL it's efficient...but I do want a 1050 in the near future for 38 SC.....I would say it depends how many time you have to switch caliber....if you plan to switch every two days...I would say the 650, but on the other hand if you need to switch once a month I would definitly go with the 1050....

Forget the 550 for this quantity of ammo.....unless you have LOTS and LOTS of free time....
