Dillon RL 550B

Bar none, the nice people at Dillon make the best progressive loading machines. The RL550 is a mid range progressive that should do everything you are desiring.
Remember, you only have to buy it once, and their NO BS lifetime warranty is real. Just ask Dillon owners, even here in Canada.

Well you get many opinions... best is a relative term.... I sell Dillon presses... but I'm sure you will find people who will tell you the Hornady or Lee or RCBS or CH or <insert name here> is best....

My recommendation is to sort out what works for you budget and performance wise...

The best one you can afford, while still having enough money left over to feed with powder, primers, and bullets.

Dillon makes a fine press - but there are other options. For 300 ultra mag the Lee system will not work - you would be able to do it on either a Dillon or a Hornady. Writeup here: http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=127691&highlight=dillon+lee+hornady+comparison

Or just google "dillon lee hornady".

Since you've never reloaded, you'll need a couple of manuals - I like hte Sierra / Lyman combination.

A good choice for a multi purpose loader. It will serve you well.

I have used a Lee 1000 for my HG ammo. I do not shoot much and it is a quirky machine to use but it does work. For the 45ACP, pretty hard to beat the price vs performance.

If you plan on shooting HG matches, get a different set up.

For your RUM, get a single stage like the new Lee Challenger press. A progressive will have a hard time dumping that much powder or fit the very long OAL. Look for a press that can handle a powder measure with a HUGE powder charge.

for the amount you will shoot a RUM, a single stage works extremely well..

Now if you were bulk shooting 223, then a progressive would be mighty interesting.
