bought some 308 dia rn bullets 170grains at a gun show i was going to use them to reload for my 308 but cant seem to find a good recipe for this grain does anyone have a good recipe for this
170 grain only comes up for the 30/30 i know that they are the same dia
not sure if i showld use the specs for the 168grain
 
I would feel comfortable starting at the bottom of 168gr loads and working up with 170gr in my 308 Win.
 
If they are 170 gr flat point they are designed for the 30-30, but you can shoot them in your 308. They are designed to expand at 30-30 velocities so if you are hunting deer with them they might not be the best choice in that they might break up and not penetrate as well as say a 150 or 165 spitzer. Just my .02.
