I acquired a set of dies off the EE for reloading .22 mag. What projectiles and powders worked the best? From what I've read, it sounds like guys would load 40gr and 50gr projectiles in them for silhouette shooting, before better .22 mag ammo was readily available.

Okay, I will have to ask - I did not know that 22 magnum rimfire could be reloaded - how is that done? Or are you meaning you have a centerfire .22 Magnum of some sort? Or possibly - pull factory bullet, dump factory powder, re-size and then reload using original factory rimfire priming??

I knew a gunsmith that took apart unfired 22 mag, then loaded a powder and 22 Jacket bullet for silhouette shooting, with a single shot pistol. He did well but no one else ever tried it.

The die set I have is meant for pulling bullets from existing cases, then adding your own powder and projectile. It's not meant for re-priming and loading shot brass.
