Are there any cartridge collectors out there with a factory round of 25-36 Marlin? (I know how rare they are). I am forming cases from 30-30 brass in a 25-35 WCF die. Of course the necks on the newly formed cases are longer than on 25-35 Win cases. Factory 25-35 Win cases are 2.350" long, while my reformed cases are 2.60" long.
I know the Marlin cartridge had a slightly longer neck than the WCF version, but for the life of me I can't find any line drawings or measurements in any of my reference materials (Cartridges of the World etc.) I know that I could easily trim to 25-35 WCF specs, but my rifle is a Marlin 1893 in 25-36 Marlin, and my newly formed empty cases chamber easily. Why trim if the longer neck is actually more historically accurate for the original cartridge?
If any one has a 25-36 Marlin cartridge or empty case could you measure case length and post or PM me. Any help appreciated.
