Has anybody reloaded 40S&W with 165 gr. RNFP bullets? If yes, please share opinions on performance (compared with, let's say, 180 gr. RNFP), accuracy and some load data recipies geared towards mostly accuracy (IPSC / IDPA competiton).

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks.

When people talk about 40 snap to me that is 165's loaded to major.

That said I have loaded lots of them but prefer 180/185 for major and 165 for minor/practice.

I use Titegroup mostly in 40 ( a bit of Unique ) as well. Start at about 4.2 TG or 5 Unique loaded to SAMMI length for minor. Work up to major - watching for pressure signs.

Never really found much difference in accuracy with these loads at least for IPSC - if I was using it for bullseye I would do more bench testing.

Had a really great load witha 165 gr. Montana Gold HP and WW Super Target. Worked good with 165 RNFP but was noticably better with HP bullets... Now I shoot 200 gr. for the 40 and love them... VV N320
