• my BNIB rifle features 22.8" 1:14 sporter barrel 8.2 lbs scoped handy feel
• 3 shot detachable magazine real nice crisp trigger 2.4 lbs factory set
• today loading 285gr Lapua SP Mega & 250gr Swift AF
• 250gr SAF seats below cannelure to chamber due to short throat
• Re15 / CCI 200 for 285gr & Re17 / Fed 215 for 250gr SAF
• 53gr Re15 & 285gr good accuracy pressure near max economic on powder
• 65gr Re17 & 250gr about max decent muzzle speed ~2610 fps not accuracy tested today
• referenced Woodleigh & Swift 9.3x62 data these loads safe in my rifle only

Loads: accuracy testing today

• 250gr Swift AF @ 2500 fps near max accuracy ok
• 250gr TTSX seats a bit deep long bullet - caution
• 250gr TTSX @ 2390 fps moderate pressure good accuracy
• reduced loads using Re7 & Blue Dot for plinking accuracy not bad
• 250gr TTSX preferred for hunting should perform like my .35 Whelen always pretty good
• these loads safe in my rifle only
• considering nicer scope for my Anschutz maybe euro of some kind
• bore de-coppered Tipton solvent good product used as directed

I bet the accuracy of the rifle will improve once you have shot around 100 rounds in it.

Seems to like 250gr TTSX / 60gr Re17 / Fed 215 / PPU brass ~2390 fps mv safe in my rifle only.

Your RL15/285 gr loads look a little on the mild side to me. How did you come to the conclusion that it's "near max"?

Right, looks like a mild load according to published data however the primers looked a bit flattish at 55gr so I backed off by 2gr's I'm good with that plus group size ain't bad.

Results today: 250gr TSX FB

• 250gr TSX FB shorter than 250gr TTSX = more case capacity
• increased charge by 2gr's to 62gr
• about 35 fps more muzzle speed compared to 250gr TTSX & 60gr Re17
• fine accuracy my euro Whelen is good to go
• these loads are safe in my rifle only

The easy answer to this is a slight crimp on the case mouth.

Great cartridge in a nice rifle. Surprised the throat is so short.

Plinking loads

• range time yesterday off hand shooting practice
• PPU 285gr / Re7 / Ginex Large Pistol Magnum primers (***NOT recommended***)
• ~1700 fps muzzle speed 50m POI about same as 250gr TSX @ 2425 fps mv hunting load
• einfach eins werden = to become one - rifle & operator

Yep a wee bit of parallax noted not unusual clarity not bad still trying to figure out what to get this scope fits real good if anything & seems to be robust at least until it breaks.

Scope upgrade

• Leupold FX-II 4x33mm & low Weaver ring mounts - lightweight
• classic scope on classic euro caliber rifle
• fits nicely way forward on receiver
• groups fine as it did with Bushnell
• 200m bit of a challenge with straight 4x done not too bad
• my euro Whelen rifle is good to go
