Hello all,

I am happy that now I can join this group since starting today I am officially reloading my own ammo :D I am planing to reload 9x19 at the beginning and after start to reload other cal.

I got progressive Lee 1000 Pro press. Amazing device.
Also I have once fired 9 mm brass about 3000-4000 pcs.
I live in Montreal and I am a bit confused with the prices for bullets....
In Dante store I was offered 9mm metal jacketed ones at 2900 pcs for 495$ plus tax. It makes aproximatelly 170$ per 1000 pcs + tax. What is going on with these prices ? Primers at Dante is about 37$ per 1000. Powder is at 30$ per 1lb.

Please tell me where is the best place to get the bullets in Quebec or even Ontario ? I am not ready to start to produce my own at this time but probably later I will get a mold and start to make my own bullets :)

Thank you for any information on where to get in QC or ON best prices for bullets and maybe other reloading components.

Vlad

You are pricing FULL metal jacket bullets

They are expensive

What you want are just Copper Jacketed

I use the AIM bullets sold and made in Ontario. They are about half the price of Jacketed.

They are also a board sponsor. Drop them a line and see if anyone in your area sells them.

In addition to AIM, Marstar sells Frontier metal jacketed. http://www.marstar.ca/ammo-etc/rl-frontier-hg.shtm Higginson's also used to carry them not sure if they still do.

there's a big primer shortage so $36/M is probably typical I would grab them if Dante has them. Check Lebaron's - IF they have them they are usually are reasonably priced.

Try Higginson's for powders. They are in Hawkesbury ON not too far from Montreal and have a storefront.

Dinsdale on this board is an Eastern Ontario Dealer for AIM

Firstly welcome to the newbie reloading group!

Secondly
Here’s what I do:
Primers
1. Lebaron for CCI they were under 30.00 per 1000
2. Higginson for CCI or WIN if they have in stock 32.00 for 1000
3. Dante last resort 37.00 for 1000

Powder:
1. Higginson
2. Dante as last resort.

Bullets: If you want cheap CMJ for practice and fun
1. Higginson
2. Masters

Bullets: if you want match ammo
1. CRAFM on the top of the page for cam am bullets about 95.00 for 1000.

As for Higginson call way in advance make an order and tell him you will pick it up and a Saturday morning. Then call and remind him just to be sure Thursday.

After that get off your @ss and take a drive to HAWKESBURY Saturday morning and pick up your order :)
P.S you save tax doing this

Check AIM projectiles web site they have price list per 1000 and contact info you can check the shipping end of it which will add to the cost.

Guys BIG THANK YOU for all your answers and suggestions ! Now it is much more clear for me and I am happy that things are not as expensive as Dante store told me :)

I will follow your suggestions and will choose the most easiest for me way.

Thank you ! :D

I just got the new price list from my distributor.
Wholly crap they went up.

CCI Primers @ $34/1000
Wincester Primers @ $38/1000

That's my wholesale price.

Add 20% for retail.

Holy crap.

As of last month, Le Baron was selling CCI for roughly $25.00/1000 And their current online catalogue has Winchesters for around $35/1000
