Here is my way to make the perfect height bench every time.

Sit or stand or however you will be working at that particular spot, bend your arm to 90 degrees from your side get someone to measure distance from elbow to floor.

BOOM, there is your bench height.Minimizes back strain.

My shop benches look very funny until you start working on them.

Much depends on any riser brackets you're using or any other mounting plates. Really? I'd take the suggestions, which are good ones all by the way, and prop up your AP press to these heights and use the same chair you'll use for re-loading and cycle the lever a few dozen times. Then shim the press up or down a bit and try again. Tune things to YOU and YOUR needs. Not to ours. It really doesn't take a whole lot of time to buckshee up a rig to hold the press at various heights within the range of suggestions mentioned.

Even so I seriously suggest a work chair that has the pressure ram lift so you can fine tune your arm reach for specific days. I've found that if my arm is sore or a little achy or stiff for whatever reason it helps to adjust the chair height by up to an inch or a little more either way to suit me for the day.

I found that the height of my kitchen table was close to what I needed (29"). The second most important part of a loading bench design that you will be sitting at, is to be able to get your knee's comfortably under the bench. If you can't sit up to the table in your chair you will be leaning forward at every thing you do. Very tiring on the back eventually if you can't support it with the back of the chair.

I built mine the same height as my counter tops and got a tall chair with a footrest. I like to stand for disassembling and cleaning rifles and sit for reloading. Works great for me, but everyone is different.
