I’m looking at going the brass hull route for my 410.
Seen people loading with a nitro cds and an over shot card.
Also seen people using a plastic wad with an over shot card.

My questing is resizing the brass hull.

Is it needed if used in the same gun?
Can I use a 444marlin sizing die?

Any advice would be great

CH4D makes a die set for .410. Also, I’ve heard of guys using .41mag dies and a shell holder for 303brit. If it was me I’d just buy the .410 dies though.

A minor thing - besides the dies, get that press shell holder thing figured out - a local guy brought over most all the stuff for reloading some 22 Hornet - except a shell holder for my press - we were sort of stopped cold at that point - I could not even show him how to de-prime on the press. Those shell holders used to be a $3 or $4 item - I see many listed on-line now for North of $30.00. More than a set of dies used to be. Many Lee Precision die sets come with a shell holder, I think - I do not know if any other die maker does that.

I find I need hornady shell holders to run my hornady press smoothly.

I have been shooting brass cases using smokeless and black powder for an extremely long time in 5 different gauges and have never used a press ans have never had an issue with needing to resize brass unless I switch guns , then I anneal by hand and simply use the shotgun to size the lubed case .
I don't crimp my cases , I use an overshot wad of the proprietary fit, and glue it in with silicone sealant or Gorilla glue:d

I am sure there are differences among makers for presses and shell holders. I happen to use an older RCBS Rockchucker press, now - for many years, I used a single leverage RCBS press - maybe it was a "JR"?. Is various shell holders here by Lyman, Lee, RCBS and Hornady - most all fit and work in the press fine, but I found some brands of brass want a particular brand / number for shell holder - some shown as "interchangeable" on various charts will not fit some brands of brass, but will fit to brass with another brand head-stamp.

I could be wrong, but i wouldn't expect brass shotgun shells to stretch much. So you might not have bother with resizing them

I use a Lee 444 marlin die to size the shells when needed (not much)
BUT...
I had to chop off the top of the die to accommodate the shell length and I did run some sandpaper-rolled-on-a-dowel to increase the inside diameter from .453 (444 marlin) to .455 (410). I polished the die afterwards.

If you are using brass in the same gun it would hardly if ever need to be resized.

Magtech brass and smokeless don’t really work because of the semi balloon head cases they also require a bigger wad(cards) then plastic hulls would this is the case with any brass hull in just about any gauge.
