Any folks reload ----specifically--- for 6.5x55 for use in a krag ? I own a m-1912 krag ,

i know the krag is a weaker action than the 6.5 swedish mauser...........any start loading info?

I have imr 3031 and varget and blc-2 on hand but seems only loads for the swedish mauser get mentioned.

Any info welcomed.

This will probably get more response in the Reloading Forum.

I load for a modern action 6.5x55 but based on Hornady (10) and Lyman (50th) Manuals there should be no difference between the old M94/96/38 or Krag actions and they should all be loaded below 46000 CUP.
Speer #14 has a separate section for 'Military' action 6.5x55 which includes the Krag. They comment the old military actions are Max 51,000 psi.

For 140gr Jacketed HPBT Lyman 50th: Min start load is 33.5gr of Varget, 3.050 OAL vel 2251 in a Swede M38 24" with 1-7.5 twist - Max load 37.0
For 140gr Spitz SP Speer 14 has Start of 31.0gr Varget, 3.000 OAL vel 2165 in a universal receiver - Max load 33.0

YMMV

FWIW a lot of people load 6.5x55 with 4831, 4350
