So I was finally able to buy a LH 6.5x55 :D

SO now I'm going to need to get componants for it.

What I have:

2 boxes 40 cases Norma unfired brass.
280 CCI 200 LRP

What would be good bullets for it?
Powder?

The rifle is a zastava btw.

Very nice score. I am currently waiting on a LH bolt for my tikka that fits the 6.5x55 swede an have a varmint barrel already. Havent picked up components yet but looking forward to getting some.

What dies did you go with ?

PM sent.

I only included loads for 140 grain bullets, which are good for just about everything that's legal to shoot in Canada.

I've taken everything from Coyotes to Bear/Deer/Elk/Moose/Wolves with 140 grain bullets, from 20yards to 400yards.

Some people like the lighter 120 grain offerings, because they can get more velocity in their old surplus Swede Mausers.

The loads I PMed you will not be found in any reloading manuals and aren't IMHO safe in the surplus Swede, small ring Mausers.

No experience with the Zastava specifically but i have a 6.5x55 with a 1/9 barrel twist. Hornady Il 129 works very well for it, also Speer Hot-Cor 140 grains. IMR4350 for both. Speer Hot-Cor is available online right now.

Mine shoots very well with 120 gr Sierra HPBT Match Kings. It did not shoot all that well with Hornady ELD Match. 85 gr. Sierra Varmint shoot well too, but they are now discontinued. 156 gr. PPU RNSP would be great for moose and deer but don't give quite as tight a groups. Get a set of lee collet dies.

I shoot the 125 and 140 Partitions out of my M700 6.5x55.
Best powders in mine for the 125: W760, IMR4350, H4350.
For the 140: RL22, Norma MRP, IMR 7828, H3831, RL23

Haven't loaded for my LH Sako 85 yet...
But used max listed loads of IMR4350 in my two Rem 700 Classics, for both 140 gr Partitions and X Bullets, w/ Fed 210 primers in Norma brass. 1", 5 shot groups at 100 yards and 1" groups at 200 yards respectively. Worked well on game (moose, deer, elk and stones sheep).
