In another thread regarding pressure signs on primers, the comments were that cratered primers are not anything to worry about. Does this also apply to pistol primers as well? Here are pics of 2 of my 9mm reloads that show a "flattened crater":

These were from a load development test. Using CCI small pistol primers and W231, I made 5 each of 3.5gr, 3.6gr, 3.7gr, 3.8gr, 3.9gr, and these were from the 3.9gr string. This began to show up at 3.7 gr, with 2 out of 5 showing the first signs of this.

I do hope this isn't an issue, because the 3.9 gr load was the tightest. I'm using Win brass fired in my Shadow, with the Campro 124gr SWC plated bullets. So am I pushing the limits according to these primers?
As well, if anyone has some loads that use these components, that work well in their Shadow, please chime in; I'm new to reloading for 9mm.

That doesn't look like anything to worry about to me. My Shadow leaves small marks like that around the firing pin mark as well. Probably just from the shape of the firing pin hole. My loads chrono at approximately 130 PF so they're not really hot by any stretch of the imagination and I still have marks. You still have nice round edges on the primer... its not even close to flattening out. When the gab between the round edges of the primer and the primer pocket start to disappear then you can worry about your loads being too hot.
