Anybody have any recommendations? Any good bullet/powder combinations? Swiss Ruag is supposed to be the best factory to shoot out of the swiss arms rifles.. anybody been able to replicate the same results? Or better??

Obviously your limited to once fired brass... unless of course you have money to blow. ;)

Just got in from shooting my first loads for the swiss and thought I would post some results. The brass is Lake City, it was tumbled, trimmed, swaged, pockets uniformed, and weighed. Bullets are Sierra 55gr BTHP. Powder is Varget, COL 2.240, lightly crimped with LEE FCD.
26 gr - .920 5 shot group
26.5 gr - .750 5 shot group 4 of them are .320 and the flier was the last shot.
Barrel was only allowed 10-20 seconds between shots. All groups measured from centre to centre of outside holes (that's how you do it right?)

I'm going to try some more at 26.5 and also some at 27. I'll keep you posted.

How many groups of 5 or did you only shoot two groups? Was that the average or the best groups?

The Swiss Arms definately like the 55 gr. ones better. My best load at the moment (all 5/shots):
55 gr Hornady SP, 24.8gr. of Varget Remington Brass, 1.823" Ogive LengthFederal Match Primers: 0.946" That one is not thoroghly tested yet though.

My standard load is the same as above but with a 1.873" Ogive. That is consistanly 1.226"

The only reason I'm using the crap Hornady bullets is because they were the free ones I got with the press :D

I have to try the match Seirra 52-55gr. bullets.

I am going to load more 26.5 now and shoot them again at 100 and then 2 and 300 to see how they hold up. I'm also going to load some at 27 gr as I hear Varget works better when compressed. Should be able to shoot them this weekend, so I'll keep you posted. The 26.5 is pretty promising though with the first four shots into one ragged hole.

I have a 1 in 10" twist barrel and have never had much luck with the 55Gr bullets. I currently load a 69Gr MK over 25gr of H-335 for about 2850FPS. This load is very consistant to load on the dillon. It takes me about 2-3 hours, depending on my motivation levels to load a thousand rounds.

I'm curious about the 60Gr V-max and varget load though...
