I'm a complete newbie when it comes to reloading, but I would like to start reloading for my TRG.
I've read through the ABCs as per everybody's suggestion. I also read through tons of topics both here and on sniper's hide.
As far as the press goes, my mind is set on the Forster Co-ax. Currently my biggest stumbling block is what type of dies to get: bushing (full or neck) or regular dies. I like the idea of bushing dies, but the neck diameter difference between the fired and loaded round (federal gold medal match) is about 0.007-0.008". Loaded round measures on avg. 0.338" and the fired round 0.345". All the once-fired brass will still chamber without any issues.
Redding recommends to get a bushing that's 0.001" - 0.002" smaller then the diameter of the loaded round. If I do this, now I'm trying to re-size the fired diameter 0.009"-0.010"!!! Is this too much to do in one resizing? Is it even possible to do without damaging the brass/die? Should I get a second bushing size that's about 0.004" bigger then the final size, to use as an interim step?
What are your thoughts/recommendations?
