1. Seat bullet to required depth at cannalure;
2. Replace shell holder with a smaller one;
3. back off seating die adjusting screw about 1/4 inch;
4. place round on top of the smaller shell holder;
5. hold steady & push round into die until you "feel" the crimp action; and
6. wiggle the case back & forth until round comes out.
I've done this with LEE dies and although a bit more time is required, you can effectively load these shortened cases without buying Hornady dies.
