Reloading Igman brass?

Hi guys!

I'm wondering if any of you have purchased Igman ammo from Districorp; and then reloaded the brass after firing?:confused:

I've heard the flash holes are a little small, but I wonder how long the cases can last and about the quality of the brass in general.

Any feedback is appreciated!:)
 
I use the 303 Brit and 7.62x54R exclusively. The small flash-hole was only with the 6.5x55, (that I know of)

The only problem I have with the brass is one in a hundred won't neck size properly. The rest are fine.

Best way to go IMHO for hard to find brass, (7.62x54R).
 
From what I've read in the past, the only Igman brass with the small flash holes is the 6.5X55 Swedish. It's an easy fix though, I use my Lyman flash hole reamer before de-priming.

crimped primer pockets, so you need to do something about that.

For the neck sizing, I find it very very very hard brass. A good annealing gets rid of the neck tension problem.

but this brass is tough as nails once you get it workeable.:redface:
 
Beautiful! That's good to hear, fellows!

I suppose I wouldn't have any issues with the small flash hole if I'm just shooting 7.92x57mm and .303 British. I'm relieved, I thought I would have to drill every single flash hole by hand if the deburring tool wouldn't do a good enough job.:D

As for the crimped primer I could just use a RCBS military crimp remover.:)

I'm with you on this one. I found that all the flash holes in the Igman 303 brass I have were off center, the Privi brass is much nicer and its allready annealed around the necks. Only problem is I can't seem to find anyone who has any. :(

I'm fairly sure that it is the other way around, Privi was the original. One or more of the factories was taken over as Igman, quality went down, civil war, new management and all.

Yugo had many decenteralized arms industry factories. Tito was always concerned with having anything too centeralized, He correctly identified the problem with having all the different "provinces" in one republic and after his death the power struggle started. And we all know how that turned out
 
woodchopper is correct. Most "special industry" factories were paired. One in Serbia and one in Bosnia. PPU is in Uzice SW of Belgrade and Igman is in Konjics in Bosnia. PPU has far more experience in making sporting calibres and with customer service than Igman. Igman has traditionally been a feeder factory for PPU/Yugoimport.

I think now I'll try getting some Prvi Partizan instead of Igman. From what you guys say; it seems like it would be the best choice.
