Im thinking about getting a press for my father for christmas. what press do would you guys recomend. dont plan on spending any more then 200$

Thanx

If I was to buy a Lee press I would go with the Lee Classic Cast press, though I use an RCBS Rockchucker that was originally purchased by my Father 38 years ago and it still works great and has never failed me.

i have two turret presses and love them. all my dies are mounted in turrets ready to go. works for handgun to full lenth magnums. my first turret press i bought about twenty years ago. was always going to buy a better press when i could afford it. problem is they still work good. i like the new four hole turrets even more. i have loaded 38 special to 7mm stw no problem.

Check out the new Lee Breech Lock Challanger press kit, good price, and good kit. If he plans on loading for pistol, go with the turret press instead. Cheers

Which turret press do you have? I thought the Lee ones were only for pistol cartridges?

lee turret will load BOTH rifle and pistol, and the 4 holer classic has enough height in the columns to do rifle rounds without taking the auto index rod out
if i was to buy a new one, that'd be the way i'd go- the only thing is that the lee powder measure doesn't have enough capacity to do rifle rounds when you get into the round about 40 grain class- but that's easy enough to remedy

The Lee Classic Turret is a great press at an excellent price.

I have been using mine for about a year & I am very pleased with this press.:)

After a fair bit of research (and checking my wallet ), I think this is the way I will be going as well.
Kits in the states (Cabela's) go for $150!
(If it helps, I also found this while doing my research)

There, fixed that for ya... :D

I've got a Lyman Turret press, and have the turret set to hold the dies for both my .223 and my 9mm at once. Works very well. The turret head has 6 holes.
