Reloading newbie. Advice needed.

I'd like to start re-loading for my new .223 savage 10fp. Where does one start? How cheap can you go and still get decent groups out to 500 meters? What are the absolute basic supplies that one would need? Brands? Any input is greatly appreciated.Thanks in advance,

I would suggest the Lee Anniversary kit in .223. That pretty much has everything you'll need to start. Challenger Press, beam scale, powder thrower, shell holders, priming tool, dies. You can upgrade components later if you need to. Lee will back any of their products 100%. Price is about $150.00 which is less than what you could pay for a press alone. Other than that pick up a good loading manual in whatever bullet you will be loading. This is probably the cheapest route to handloading.

I bought a Lee anniversary kit for this very reason - and what I've been able to do so far (and it is me, not my rifle) is just sub-moa out to 600 meters. once you get the kit, and spend some money on good components, it starts to get cheaper.

Wholesale sprots has them. I'm sure Russel sells them too. You could try Ellwood Epps sporting goods from Orillia can get them. Just specify caliber.

For you folks in Ont. looking for the Lee stuff, Higginson's Powder would be your best bet.

Don't start reloading or it will never end. Buy this but that. Between the computer and reloading I don't even know if I have a family any more!
