reloading primers?

Came across a video looking for some info on reloading. Probably save my used primers lol Like brass. Just wondering if it's a thing. Might become w the prices and availability

Might be fun to experiment with and knowing it works for a shtf situation but not going to do this any time soon as I have enough primers to last me quite a while.

There's a kit? The video I watched he had tweezers and needle nosed plyers. Looked like 3 parts to the primer and the powder. The brass if you want to call it that. A ring and a piece of paper. You flatten out the dimple or strike. Take the rest of the primer apart and put it back together with the ignition. Not sure what the ignition is. Is there a primer powder or paste

Google "prime all" its a 4 part mixture, antimony trisulfide, Sulfur, Pyrex glass, and potassium chlorate. 2 can be bought at stores, one can be made from bleach. But the antimony trisulfide is impossible to get in Canada at a reasonable price, makes the $500/1000primers look cheap. I wanted to try it myself, but only labs seem to have it canada, and they want $175 per 50gram. So for all practical reasons, it will cost more then the high prices of today. Mind that quote was a number of years ago when I was looking to try, prior to the shortages.

Thanks that puts a damper on it. Good info

The kit is Prime-All Repriming Compound.

I've played with reloading primers with paper caps from a toy gun. Two caps in a primer works in black powder cartridges, I want to try some in smokeless but haven't gotten around to it. Not something I'd do in bulk, just wanted to try it. I made some match head compound that ignites pretty loudly if hit with a hammer, but it wouldn't ignite in my primers.

interesting for sure. Ill be saving the spent primers. Won't take much space and you never know. Just getting into reloading. Saving my brass. Got 70 both brass and spent primers lol
