Why isn't there consistent recipes for reloading? I'm using Speer's number 11 for 9mm 115 GR bullet its min of 7.5 HS6 powder and max of 8.2 . Hodgdon calls for min of 6.4 and max of 6.9 HS6 powder. I've been loading 7.5.

Different powder lots, different brass, different primers, different bullets, different guns, different temperatures, etc, etc, etc all add up to different data.

If 7.5 is OK try 7.6.

Joe knows.

I'll also add what I've been told many times and what's been written here hundreds of times. Get as many different sources as possible (at least three), and start with the lightest load of the bunch. Work up from there. Also try to get the most recent info available. Speer's at #14 now, I reckon a lot has changed since #11.

Try the Hodgdon data, you will have a smile on your face, and not gun powder, I promise!:D Start with the 6.4, I will bet money, you will not be far off! I have since switched to Universal Clays, as you will use much less powder, and be able to load many more rounds, per pound. ;)

Go with the Hodgdon data, I have used this powder, and found 6.4 to be good with the 115gr. bullets. HS-6 is a great powder, but I have since switched to Universal Clays, as you will get "more bangs for your buck" per pound. Charge is much less with Universal.
