hey guys, i got a bit of a problem, some of my reloading gear does work with my 300 wsm brass, the primer tool is too narrow to fit the brass and also my chamfer tool does not fit down over the neck of my case far enough to deburr the outside of the case, any suggestions would be appreciated thanks

Reloading tools

Not sure if you are referring to the shell holder that retains the brass in the priming tool or the primer seater which seats the primer in the case. For the shell holder you will have to get a new one appropriate for the case. For the seater it's possible you may have a small rifle or pistol primer rather than a large rifle primer seater. Again you need one the correct size. As for the deburrer again assume it's a Lee? Or?? Get a Forster (RCBS) type chamferer and you'll have no problems until you get above 45 cal case mouths. Helps if you get the terminology exact when describing a problem.

I think Stocker is probably right... you might need a different shell holder for your priming tool. The only adjustment that I had to make to my reloading stuff (mostly RCBS) when I started to load for my 270 WSM was to trim the neck length of my powder funnel.
The RCBS de-burring tool will work fine for your short mag, and they're not very expensive to pick up.

If it's the Lee autoprime unit, it's not the shell holder, the opening is just too small, answer...dremel tool. Just open it up a little, doesn't affect it for any other calibre and it will work just fine for WSM's. The other problem is the Lee tool, correct. I bought a Lyman universal chamfer, deburring tool. works great, I now use it all the time. You may not be there yet, but your funnel may not work either, the neck of the funnell is too long to fully seat over the mouth of the case, powder went everywhere. I cut the back end off a 260 case and use it as a sort of a drop tube.

Yeah i have a lyman chamfer and deburer and it works like a hot damn and is plenty wide. I also just use a file and opened up my lee auto prime so I could fit my 300wsm brass in there. I dono better than my rcbs press trying to seat the primers and feel for it......
