Reloading startup costs (Dillon, Hornady)

I recently bought a bunch of reloading gear and thought I'd post what I bought and the price I paid, in case others are thinking of getting into the hobby. I'm currently interested in reloading .308 for precision rifle shooting, and high volume 9mm, and this gear lets me do that. I've been told that the gear I chose is somewhat higher end; you could probably shave a few hundred dollars off my total if you're willing to compromise on quality or features.

All prices are US dollars (I could get a better deal in the US because the Canadian dollar was strong when I bought.)

.308 single stage reloading gear:

I mounted this gear on a bench that cost me $104 in supplies from Home Depot. I found the bench design by Googling "Reloading Manufacturer's Association bench" but if you can't find it just PM me your email address and I'll send it to you. I built 2 of them in 6 hours including the trip to Home Depot.

If you can, lag bolt the bench to the wall for stability.

If you haven't already, bolt your bench to the wall. You'd be surprised how small vibrations can translate into problems.

Aha! You solved the mystery - my auto prime tool is arriving next week having been backordered. I thought I had the wrong part because it wouldn't fit on the press. Thanks!

The auto prime shell holders are different as you have discovered, however the auto prime II which fits on the press uses the same shellholders as the press

You can get a set of 11 press shell holders from wholesale sports, I believe they are about $25, or you can of course buy them one at a time.
