I am new to reloading & am looking for reloading supplies in Ottawa. Are there any retail outlets in Ottawa area that sell primers, powder, tools, etc? or do I have to do the $$$ mail order thing ? Thanks.

George

Higginson Powders is just outside Ottawa in Hawkesbury. Try them.
__________

Higginson's is good.

There is also Le Baron and the Stittsville Range.

I believe the range is only open weekends.
________

Stittsville is open from Wednesday till Sunday. Benny and Wayne are pretty helpful. They have a decent selection of powders and bullets on hand.

LeBaron has the better prices but fail miserably at having things in stock.

Higginsons doesnt have a store front if I am correct.....maybe i'm wrong though. I have ordered from them before and they are excellent to deal with.

Ditto on Higginson. The guy running it is the great nephew of the early Higginson. He has a small business and is competing in a market most of us are too shortsighted to think much about.

Lebaron's is a perfect example of laziness serving (if that is the word) lazy customers. Yes, there are guys who want to patronize them and hope that their needs will be in stock. But without fail, Lebaron's is out of stock.

I haven't bought anything at Stittsville lately but the camobelly commandos did identify something I was trying to put a name to.

I have bought items from Higgineson; they are a good company to deal with.

I buy most of my supplies through Robertson Composites; Ian will order things in and usually takes no more than 1 week.

Reloadng supplies are next to impossible in the Ottawa area. Higginson is fabulous, although the shipping charges for powder are a little difficult to bear. On the other hand, if you can pick up- and I have done so for years, Andrew will beat all other prices by a significant amount- in fact, I won't shop anywhere else. Excellent prices on powder, bullets, Bushnell scopes and Lee reloading components.

Oh yes, following the last: Le Baron is useless, they never have anything, and for those of us not completely bilingual,
Le Baron is franco for : empty shelves!!! Have a great day

GunMart in Brockville, Brian Dwyer I think is his name will get what you want.
Norris' (Roger Norris) bait and tackle in Westport is also very good. Very good prices on Excaliber bows.
