i used to stick more to the middle of the road loads for this one as it was so hard to get or make the brass....25-20 Win single shot cases are not cheap or easy to get to reform...i do not have the exact load anymore that i used (long time ago) but kept this data that Ellwood gave me...
hope this helps you out
jim w
It is a great little cartridge, I have one built by Epps on a low-wall, has the most beautiful funiure going.... Heavy barrel, shoots in the same hole all day....
Drop me a note john@marstar.ca I will look up some of the loads I use....
Beani Bill; You did not mention what action it is built on ??
this one is built on a rem model 30 express action.the original bbl. was a 256
newton.i haven't seen this one yet,it should be here next fri or the following
mon..the fellow i bought it from says there is a whole box full of brass in original boxs, dies(lee),bullets, some cartridges and books.i can't wait.
thanks for the info jim.
i'm not sure what supersaver is but this gun is coming from sask..a friend of
mine took it on trade & offered it to me for his cost.theres always room for
one more oldie.
todbartell-this cartridge is closer to a hornet than a 22-250 in size but the
mv can be up around the 3400fps mark (40g bullett).
It's a kind of a Buy Sell & Trade rag that viewable on-line. Saw one listed with that description for $325 or so (and I think it was in SK too). Was damn temted to grab that one myself (if they are the same one).
