After trying loads made up with 32/20 brass and .309 dia. cast bullets I tried to reload these casses with the same dies (30 carbine dies) and bullets but found that the bullets would drop on top of the powder charge. This was due to the thinner brass not giving me enough neck tension. When I shot the first loads I placed paper on either side of cylinder to see how much was blowing out of the cylinder to barrel gap. I found little evidence of powder or lead or gas blowing out after 25 rounds. I am about to try some .314 dia. cast bullets which is what a lot of the U.S. guys are using in there Nagants. Although I am not sure how wise it is to push this dia. of a bullet through this gun. Any thoughts on using the .314 bullet????
