:sniper:Wondering if anyone make a good load for their Rem 700 VTR Rifle?
Hoping to get 4 inch groups & smaller for 500-800 yards.
What kind of brass, primer, powder & bullet type are you using?
Did you use a bipod or benchrest to get your results.
Any info would be a great help.

Thanks

.5 MOA at 800 yards with a factory gun? There will be a lot of guys kicking themselves for spending $3000-$5000 on a custom rifle to do just that.
Most top F Class shooters are shooting off a front rest and rear bag.
As you are in Ontario, check out some of the matches near you put on by the ORA. www.ontariorifleassociation.org
You and your rifle are prime candidates for F(M) class out to 1000 yards. This class is designed as an entry level into F Class shooting without spending huge coin on a rifle.

As far a loads go there isn't a magic load that will shoot .5 or even 1 MOA in every rifle, you need to experiment.
The load for my rifle is 46 gr of Varget behind a 155 gr moly coated bullet in a Lapua case and a Federal 210M primer.

You absolutely must work up the load for your rifle. No two rifles, even two identical, consecutively serial numbered, rifles will shoot the same ammo the same way. When testing loads, shoot off the most solid rest you can off a bench at 100 yards. When you find the most accurate load for your rifle, move out to longer distances, taking the ballistics into consideration. You have to know how far your bullet will drop at the various distances to adjust your sight.
Look into a 168 grain match bullet with IMR4064 for distances out to 600 yards. A 175 grain match bullet with the same powder for distances past 600. The 155 grain bullets are also known as 'Palma' match bullets. They'll do, but you'll still have to work up the load.

Rem 700 VTR Rifle loads

To Sunray & goose 25

I thank you both for your input about loads for each rifle, just as i felt.
I've been reloading handgun ammo for over 10 years now.
I make special loads for all my handguns weather it's for Bullseye or IPSC.
It's taken me 2 years to do this but well worth it.
