Rem 100 20 gauge

Guys I need a couple of opinions on a guns value.
It is a 20 gauge Rem 1100 full choke with a 3 inch chamber, 28 barrel. Likely 20 years old?
Gun is very clean with no marks on the wood or the steel. I'm thinking $375- $425.00.
Your thoughts?

Does it have an "X" in the serial number? If so, that's one of the Frankenstein guns - 12 gauge frame and a 20 gauge barrel. I've got one. Nothing odd about it other than that. Shoots great. Mine is actually the Lightweight Magnum (mahogany stock) - very rare! From the early '70s actually.

Grouse just had a closer look at this shotgun and it is a Light 20 gauge magnum
serial number N139***U.
No mahogany here, but a cherry used piece. Say how does your;s handle 2 3/4 inch target ammo?

Being a magnum, mine (sorry, my wife's gun) has a larger single port instead of two smaller ones. I thoroughly cleaned it and tried it with Challenger target ammo. It wouldn't cycle 100%, maybe 75% or so. I found the specs for the hole diameter from the net somewhere, and then calc'd about 10-20% larger area. I got the appropriate size drill bit (forget what size now) and ran it through. Now it functions perfectly. It won't see heavy payloads of lead now, and I don't thing the occassional steel load for ducks will cause it any great stress. But I bought it mainly as a range gun for my wife.

I think you are a little low. I have seen a few consigned and private sale go for $500.00.
