Looking at one for clays. Ambidextrous and empties don't fly at your neighbor on the singles/doubles line in trap either.

Fill me in with your knowledge and/or experience.

One of the guys at the club had one. It was a mess. Failed to function reliably and had a bent rib. He sent it back. I've seen a couple others in stores and didn't think much of them. In that price range the Beretta 391 is a better choice. Add a shell catcher for trap and you are good to go.

There is one for sale in EE that I had a hankering for. I read several reviews today... none of them very flattering for the 105.
Do a Google search and see what people think. Glad I didn't go forward with the purchase.

What, 2 years on the market ?.. Then dropped by Remington like a hot potato !

It's a field gun ... most will not cycle anything lighter than 1-1/8 oz. 3 dram loads.

Somewhat attractive to lefties, but that's about the only redeeming value.

If you're a righty - follow mClaybuster's advice. If you're a lefty ... do the same.

The CTi story is not all gloom and doom as you would like to portray. Remington had massive problems with the first batch (before they even hit the Canadian market) and have made many adjustments and re-tooling efforts to correct the original flaws.

They have corrected the problems, and the last ones that they put out are fixed. If you search on the internet, you will see that they are in the process of producing the Remington 105CTi II now. They are currently unavailable in Canada.

The later production CTi's work perfectly well but suffer from the stigma left from the first batch. I have not had a jam or FTF,FTE with mine and it has exclusively shot 2 3/4dram 1 1/8oz trap loads.

Remington 105 CTi is now branded as the Remington 105CTi II just as the:
-Extrema is now the Extrema II and the
-Urika is now the Urika II.

And yes, that is my gun in the EE. I would have to be pretty stupid to sell a crappy gun on the EE on CGN where people are so eager to flame.

My opinion & experiance is just mine ... based on the 3 - 105CTi's I'm familiar with.
And they were guns from the Canadian market.

If yours worked for you ... great.

I wish Remington every success with their second generation attempt. Their "New for 2009" net specs. don't seem to offer it in a "clays" configuration.

FYI the Extrema II and UrekaII are not remakes to correct ANY fault, but an evolution in continuous and unequaled reliable shotgunning with loads from 2 1/2 dram trainning loads to MAX steel. There is not ONE other autoloader that can be shot uncleanned for 25024 documented rounds with only 20 FTF! I can show you pictures that appeared in my article. My 391 Gold Optima Sporting has been uncleanned since I got the first one in Canada! It still spits out both light loads and heavy steel the same distance! How many years??? Try that with the other makes!!! They keep changing their design every few years to try and make it work. The Beretta gas system is the only truly reliable all round feeder! Even the Benelli line cannot master all the loads that are available on the market as well as the Berettas!

Regards,
Henry;)

The original Extrema and original Urika were A+ right from the start. The CTi was a failure. The CTi II has yet to be proven.

I did not know you had a CTi for sale on the EE, but with your trader rating I would expect it to be a good one. I am sure that Remington did not plan to make a POS and I am sure that more than a few actually worked out.

I know of more than a few CTi guns have been sent for warranty repair and a few that returned with the same problems that they had when sent. If I was inclined to buy a used one (I am not) I would want an extended guarantee. As mentioned before, there are more suitable guns with a better record that would be better for clay.

Hardly the same. The Urika, Urika Optima, Teknys and Urika II work. The Remington didn't.

There is one minor mechanical difference between the Urika and Urika II. It is a serrated gas piston. The other difference is cosmetic with the offering of the Xtra-finish on the stock.

Having (again) fallen victim to the magazine reviews I was keenly looking forward to trying the CTi. The design was unique and a couple of the features intrigued me. When I eventually got one in my hands what I saw was a piece of overpriced crap. Maybe their newest version of it will be better but I'll let someone else do the Beta testing on Remington's 2nd attempt.

Meanwhile I'll stick with my 391 Sporting and continue to hope that one day Beretta will make it in 28 gauge.

avoid the cti as you would a bubonic rat.

If you are desperate for an autoloader and want remington get an older 1100 or 1187

My preferance being the 1100 fits like a tailored glove shoots soft and flat. And yes I know berettas are more reliable but there is absolutely no beretta on the market that fits 90 percent of all shooters and currently my main gun is a dt-10 so I am not rem biased

Now now boys , when the first Tekny's came out they had lots of bad reviews from bent lifters that Stoeger Canada never owned up to no matter how much was published about this guns performance in the USA. I had one of these and tried to use it several hundred times before I got the lifter changed, other models suffered the same malice as I recall. FS

So, let's hear some actual reviews from people who have OWNED them. I don't mean " Ya, I shot my buddy's one afternoon" or "I heard they didn't work". I would like to hear from people who actually owned, cleaned and maintained their own CTi. What problems did you have with yours? Likes, dislikes?

I owned a cti first five hundred rounds were flawless then it wouldn't cycle, wouldn't take a shell from the magazine for the second shot. I took it back the gun shop sent it away to Remington 4 months later got it back still wouldn't feed properly. Complained enough got my money back and now would never touch another.
