I bought a new Rem sporting 12 a couple of months back.At least once per round of clays the operating handle will drop out.I have assembled the thing carefully after cleaning, and it has been back to the store to have this prob fixed(but it persists).Has anyone else experienced this? and what was done?.
Any advice is appreciated.
Cheers.

Either the detent ball or the detent dimple in the handle is somehow defective/not fitting together correctly, or the detent ball spring is very weak. It should hold it in there VERY firmly.

Assuming it was new I would be like a fly on to sh*t with Remington and the Dealer from whom you bought this fine quality firearm with today’s hard earned cash.
Simply demand a new replacement firearm.
I shot one of these for years with no problems other than o-rings at trap many, many rounds and zero failures.
There is no excuse for this kind of failure.

I have a used 1100 and I never had a problem with the operating handle falling out.

I play pranks on my buddy, I load up the tube and pull out the OH and give them the gun and watch their faces as they try to #### it.

I have a friend with the same problem and he had the ball spring replaced and it still falls out! I looked at the gun and the hole in the carrier assembly is poorly made and it looks to big compared to my 1187 carrier. Remington should go good to fix the problem!
