Well, I just pickjed up my first Rem 1100 shotgun (3" Magnum) , now I need to accessorize!

Question: Will the Rem 870 +1 mag extension work on a Rem 1100 ? I am pretty sure it will, but I thought I should check to be sure. It would be nice to have a 5 shot tube on the 1100

Also, does anyone have experience with the Choate MK5 stock on the Rem 1100? Good/bad/ugly?

What about sights ? Any recommendations for a ghost-ring type setup?

Thanks!

I bought a endcap for my 870 that was ment for a 1100 and it went right on.

Due to the rough treatment my shotgun gets, I would choose sights which are winged. I like the looks of the sights from Sage International. XS also makes a good sight, and they have a tactical model for Remingtons which have protection for both the ghost ring and the front sight, unlike their standard sights which are unprotected.

If you go with the Wilson's, you don't NEED wings! I would bet that the Wilson Scattergun sights are at least or twice as strong as some of the winged variants.

They look nice, but don't appear to be any tougher than the XS sights on my wife's '06. Still, unless you took a hard fall on rocky ground I'm sure they would stand up fine.

Although true, remember that STOCKS and FORENDS do not interchange between 870 and 1100.

Partially true. With the addition of a long draw bolt, the 1100 stock will bolt right onto an 870.I've done it myself, putting my 1100 trap stock onto my 870.

Not altogether true.

Fore-ends won't fit but some stocks are interchangable.

Choate have them, and so do I on some of my guns.
