Rem 1187 - low recoil ammo

I need answers from you guys out there that own a rem 1187. Mine doesn't cycle low recoil slugs. so i'm wondering if there is an ajustment to be done so it can cycle low recoil ammo or there is nothing to do. And i would like to know if the regular 7 1/2 bird shot cycles through the 1187 (is the round powerful enough?)

Is it brand new? My 11-87 was bought used and it has not had any issues cycling anything yet, and that is including 7 and 1/2 bird

I have two of them but both are 1987/ 88 production or the 1st ones made which I am not sure if that makes a difference but mine will cycle every I feed it. I even shot 7/8 oz winchester loads and it cycled fine.
No nicks in the o-ring is there, you have a factory o-ring installed?? and the gas system is real clean??

Have you been shooting a lot of slugs with it.......the gas system could be plugged with lead, try a good cleaning of the gas system, and replace the O ring
